Any mod suggestions? I got an 03 4.2 5 speed xl short bed regular cab sport. Looking to keep suspension stock for now.
Planning on 265/75r16 tires (is that too large?), k&n filter, brush guard, exhaust (magnaflow 50), maybe a headache rack? Also new sport stickers. Any other mod suggestions? Mostly just looking for appearance mods but anything to help mpg is nice
I had a 96 ranger I did a lot too, 2 inch level, 06 mirrors, explorer wheels, explorer interior, clear headlights and a bunch of other stuff

I would run 265/70/r16 tires at the stock height. And I wouldn't run a k&n. Use something with a higher flow dry element. I'm sure someone will chime in with more info on the filter. I'd paint the grille surround to match the body and install lightning or Harley Davidson headlights. I'd ditch the sport stickers. And I wouldn't install a brush guard and headache rack. At least with the way the truck sits now. Maybe if you lifted it.

Anytime a thread starts out with "mods" I already know not to look. here comes the k&n argument.

Yeah I think I'll do more research before dropping a k&n in. And I think a toolbox would be more useful than a headache rack.
Anyone have any pictures of a stock 2wd with a grill guard? I've always wanted one, I may level it if it would help with looks. Here's my old ranger

I'm just gonna throw a personal experience out there.

When I installed mine, by the time I had to clean it, my maf was gunky and there was a light film of oil throughout the intake and into the throttle body. Must have been over oiled? I'm not sure. But I won't be running one anymore.

Hang on, you from the Shoals area? Alabama? I think I saw your truck for sale. And yup my 2wd fits 265s perfect, about to go up to 285's. Also look up the gotts mod rather than a K&N.

My wife and I are from there, Mars Hill grads, but we live in Louisiana now. We were actually in Florence yesterday to see family.

As far as the looks of your truck go I'd ditch the chrome step and black everything else out except for the rims. If you level it I'd drop the back rather than raise the front. Your truck has some attitude already so just expand on it.
By the looks of that Ranger you know what tasteful mods are so the F150 seems to be in good hands.
