Default 2002 Headlight Restoration

Hey Guys!

The headlights on my 2002 F150 XLT have gotten very yellow-ed and oxidized over the years. It was really starting to affect not only the appearance but also the brightness of the headlights. The before and after difference is literally day and night.

Here are some before & after shots of my headlight restoration project I just completed on my '02. Wet sanded with 1000 grit, then 3000 grit, buffed and used Maguire's Plasti-x and then UV protection.

Getting my 2015 has given me a newfound appreciation for my 2002!!

That is why I went with lighting head lights. The restore didn't make any difference in light at night.

It came out really good. On my 98 they were so yellow I ended up buying a pair on ebay. They were pretty cheap and easy to install.

Thanks! I'm really pleased with the way they came out too! I looked into that but I couldn't part with my original factory headlights....I'm going to keep an eye on it and if they begin to yellow out again I will replace with OEM ones

Looks good. An easier way is to just use scratch out. It take about 30 seconds per light and they are crystal clear lol.

Simple, just put some scratch out on a piece of cloth, and rub it all around lol. You will see it come out very fast.

This is on my moms '97 Ford Aerostar:
