Default 2001 Supercrew

Hey All, So I just bought this Arizon no rust Screw.
I want to put on nerf bars so that momma can get into the truck.
I live in Wisconsin and we use salt in the winter on the roads. Pu nching a hole in the rockers and then stressing that hole with the nerf bars is not ideal in my opinion. I have searched and cannot find much in the way of frame mounted nerf bars... deezee has some generics, style council at the house says, meh.
Then looking further I did find these that I like the way they look...
https://trail-gear.com/weld-on-rock-sliders.html

The fine print says that the mounting legs are 11 1/4" long. I dont think thats long enough to make it from the frame to the outside of the rockers. I may be wrong and Ill admit I am a newb.
Any helpful suggestions or leads are welcome.
I am not afraid to fabricate, we have a welding gear...

I am not a fan of the flat running boards either..

Thank you for reading
F

Factory option.
Mounting holes probably exist and anything you buy is probably made to use them

The ones I have found appear to mount on the rocker panels. Also discontinued

What you have listed here are not nerf bars or side steps, they are exactly what they are listed as, Rock Sliders. These attach directly to the frame and only come out as far as the rocker panels. They are designed to protect the underside outer edges of the body from damage while four- wheeling over large rocks and boulders that would otherwise come into contact with the body, allowing the truck to slide over the rock/boulder.

Smittybilt use to have a set that fit the 150's. Their web site shows a picture but doesn't list them. Call them and get the measurements, I bet they'll work.

https://www.smittybilt.com/contact/

They've been building rollbars, bumpers and nerfs for around for 40 years or so....should be able to source some for you.

If not, locate a metal fab shop close to you. Purchase a 3" piece of stainless tubing of the proper schedule and have them bend it up for you. Have them install the frame plates as well. Build to suite....to your specifications. Not much to them.

If your going with tube nerf bars, you could use outdoor traction tape.
