Default 2001 SCREW brake issues

Hello, new to this site and I got an issues I could use so help with. I have a 2001 5.4 super crew. The last 2 times I towed my camper the ABS light came on after a few miles and usually while going downhill. The braking seems a bit weaker after this. Once I unhook the trailer the light goes out. The other issue is the right front inner pads is destroyed (metal to metal). Not sure what all this about, but it's becoming a real pain. I have bought a Power Stop towing kit (calipers, pads, rotors) to replace my OEM units. Would like to see if I can get this resolves before I install this kit and possibly ruin the pads and rotors. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

As far as it wearing the inner pad quicker, thats a sign of sticking calipers or a bad brake hose. I would replace the brake hoses while you are there replace the brakes and calipers. As far as the ABS light you need a scanner to see what the code is.

Don't try autozone.. i did waste of time they won't scan ABS codes had to go to Ford. $90 later i found out it was a $150 speed sensor ( with discount from tasca ) so be prepared to spend some cash.

Thanks. I did get new front hoses for when I do the rotor/caliper swap. I ddi make sure to clean and lube the calipers when I took them apart earlier this year. I did scan I with the tool I have but it may not do ABB codes. I have a friend who has the newest Snap-on reader. I will take to him before I do the swap. Thanks Again for your input.

Tanks, but no Oriellys around here. I will take it to a friend who has the newest Snap-on scanner to check for codes.

I had the same thing with the inner pads wearing down and the abs light coming on. One of the caliper slides were seized so I replaced both from calipers, pads and rotors. Brakes a lot better and ABS is gone and never came back on.
