Default 2001 King Ranch 4x4 off road

So im looking at a King Ranch 4x4 you can check the link below, I think they are asking waaaayy to much for it but thats a topic for another discussion.

im more interested in the Triton v8, ive always heard that changing the spark plugs in them can be a PITA. but are there any other problems I should know about? should I stay away from this truck or is it common for the triton V8 and the 4x4 system to last 200k+?

basically im looking for a truck that I can take to the beach, haul things, do a little off road-ing with.

They are a bit high on the price but not WAY high IMO. 200k is nothing for a well maintained 5.4. The plugs are difficult to replace compared to some trucks but not much worse than your average late model pickup. Looks like it was well cared for and not worked very hard...pavement princess, which is good. Do they have any records on it?

I think the price is too high if it's just a weekend vehicle, but granted in only 18 so not much experience here and not sure what the market's like in TX. On our gen. the spark plugs aren't a problem. You're probably confusing it with the 11th gen. engines, they're the ones that break off. And these engines are great, you should have no problem getting to 200k engine wise. My 2¢

they do have a carfax report which I checked, shows an entry in 2013 for "damage" but it doesnt say of what kind or of repair. so thats interesting and another point I can use for a lower price. so I shouldnt worry about spending money on this and turning around and getting slammed with a lot of repair cost?

anyone know how I can check if its got a LSD or Locker in the rear? ive read that some of the 4x4 dont have either so they are a bit useless off road?

6500 was around what I was thinking.

PERFORMANCE: on another note, is there a performance part outlet that I cant find? is it common to cam these triton motors? doesnt stock make 260hp and 350tq?

Id pay no more than 8 out the door after everything. Be careful of the front end, its nice and cranked up.

The front end is leveled up pretty high, they turned up the torsion key bolts to do so. Doing so in return increases wear and tear on ball joints tie rods cvs etc. So take a look at them and make sure everything is tight and the boots have no rips

There is a sticker in the door jam that will tell what axle it has, most likely a limited slip.

Yep, not a lot of power but the torque is around 2200 rpm which helps things out tremendously for getting moving. Today's trucks make on average 100 more HP but around the same TQ. I'm not sure, but I don't think they peak at as low an RPM
