1999 Front Dixc Calipers
Had a brake drag yesterday; left front. Had the same brake jam on the sliding pins last year. Was working nights and turned it around in one day reusing the pins (not in stock). Paying for it now. Going to kill it good; rebuilt calipers and new pins/hardware. Other parts as the inspection reveals.
Question, since this is not my daily and may set for a week or more, which is better, the metal or phenolic pistons?

Steel pistons are better, IMHO. Especially for a truck.
I would also suggest you replace the brake hoses. They can make your brakes hang up too. They rot from the inside out and can cause a one way valve inside which will also do exactly what you are experiencing.

Done. Went with the phenolic pistons; they were in stock, the steel were backorder and I wanted to get the truck fixed. Nice to work with new parts, I got the complete rebuilt caliper with bracket. Four hours including trip to store, topping off the AC and running a can of CRC turbo cleaner through the car.
