1999 front diff problema
Hey guys bit of an odd problem. Kinda tough. My 4x4 won't engage. It was working great so I took it out and then it stopped working. All the vacuum system is good. Actuator works. Shift fork is working too. It's like the hubs aren't engaging inside the diff? I drained the fluid and I think i had water in there for awhile. It was very thin and dirty. I have to drive backwards for a bit to get it to engage and when it does it feels like it is binding in the front axle. It won't move at idle. Have to take it up to 1k rpm to make it move on flat level asphalt. Any help or pointers. I couldn't find any other posts about it. Thanks!

Problema, you have two identical threads... What for?
Also, if it was working great, why did you take it out ? What did you take out exactly, just to be clear ??

Sorry for the 2 posts. I am new and must have clicked the wrong thing. I'll see if I can fix it.
I meant the truck was working fine with no problems so I took it out to be lake when it proceeded to stop working.

In low it kinda clunks into gear, which is what it has always done. Other than that still no front drive.
I drained the fluid and looked inside the plug hole and everything is rotating inside when 4x4 is engaged. We jacked up the truck and put it in gear to test power to the driveshafts and see if the gears were turning inside the front diff.
