Default 1998 shocks/struts

Hi everyone. I'm looking to replace my shocks/struts on my 98 Lariat 4x4. It's all stock with 165,000 miles. So I think it's time to replace them. It's a daily driver, and my job has me driving all over Columbus on a pretty regular basis. So I'm looking for a happy medium between performance and comfort.

I'm looking at Bilstein and Tokico. They're roughly the same price, and I'm not too worried about it anyway, I figure my truck takes care of me everyday, it's time to spend some money on her.

What kind of shocks and struts have you guys had luck with? Does anyone have any better suggestions for comfort?

Thanks in advance

I replaced my trucks front & rear end shocks with Skyjacker Nitro 8000 for $150 from Autoanything.com. Great handling, smooth ride and adjusts to road condition. Comes with lifetime warranty. Overall I'm happy with it.

i hear rancho RS5000's are really good and what i plan on ordering in a few weeks rock auto has them for 49.99 front regular length and 54.99 rear regular lenght and 59.99 front 2.5" leveling kit

so a really good price! auto anything has them in standard length for 59.99 all around so save 30 bucks! on all four if you go with the standard and 10 if you go with the long front ones!

On a side note, how difficult were the front shocks to replace? I've done rear shocks on a couple cars, never front.

I have edelbrock performer ias shocks and i absolutley love them, theres a valve that opens up when ur on bumpy roads to allow more shock flow and them stays closed when ur on smooth roads for sweet handeling. They were like $90 each but imo def worth it
