I was wondering if anyone else have a 97-98 4.6 and when you floor it do you feel any power kick cause when I get on the gas all I see it my speedo slowly climbing and feel no power and also does anyone know how I can fix this I'm gonna change the fuel filter and spark plugs as soon as I get a time sert kit and clean throttle body can you think of anything else

NOPE! as soon as I hit the gas it pushes you back in the seat, 2000 4.6L. one thing you can try is pull your gas pedal away from the floor and see how much cable is sticking out at top, maybe your throttle cable is stretched.

I guess I'll check that cause my pedal is stiff but first I'm gonna do my tune up but cylinder 2 spark plug won't come out it's like it just spins

Yeah i gotta 98 with the 4.6 and it will set you back in the seat when i mash the pedal

Good call on the stretched throttle cable. But you just told us you have a 98 f150 that's it. Miles.4x4. Gears. Tires. Exhaust. Intake. Any other mode done or not done. How have you maintained it? Are u the only owner? So on and so on.

The 97, 98, 99 4.6 had the non power improved intake and heads as well. So you will not get the response you would from a 2000 and up. The 4.6 motor is a baby v8 for a heavy truck. So I would not expect it to snap you back like it would in a mustang.

It could be numerous things but we need more info. We could better serve you with more information.

ok its got a 1998 4.6 with 190,000miles (yes i know they are high)
3.55 gears 2WD
265/70/16 tires michellen (i did not spell it right)
flowmaster supper 44 SI/SO
stock intake and no other engine mods

It has been maintained perfect oil change 3k miles tranny flush every 6months coolant flush every year fuel filter at 10k miles

and i am the second owner BUT the first owner was my grandpa

when i mash the pedal in mine you cant tell the difference just the sound of the engine roaring through the flowmaster 44

dose it kick down, yes a tune-up is a good start, plugs, air filter, gas filter, etc.

what do you mean kick down like its down shifting then yes and i tried a tune up but cylinder 2 plug wont come out so before i do that i gotta get a re-sleeve kit

yes down shift, I know my truck was a bit slugish, but i did the Gotts mod, super 44 muffler, and E-fan, now the power is awsome.
