1997 wheels on a 2001
I recently installed a really nice used set of 16in 1997 Ford factory wheels on my 2001 F150.
At the time I bought the wheels, I thought all 1997-2003 wheels were the same. I have since come to realize they changed the size of the posts on the lug nuts from 12mm to 14mm between 2000 and 2001. So here are my questions.
Any safety issues with this? I could see it possibly being an issue if I did it the other way, but I have the bigger posts, not the smaller ones.
Also, my center caps do not fit on my lugs nuts all of a sudden, I was wondering if the solution here is to get longer lug nuts or do I need to get new different center caps?
Any advice is appreciated.

Last i checked it should be fine, however, the 97-98 yr had two stud sizes, 12 and 14 based on the packages of the vehicle, as for the hub cap, you may and may not find the correct one for your 14 mm stud/lugnuts. Check with your local Ford Dealer at the parts counter.
