then you can build a box to fit your needs just look up some plans online or check out idb's thread on it

I wouldn't worry about it personally, just didn't want to get fussed at for not mentioning it lol

Depending on the box you end up with you could use a spacer to raise the mounting surface of the sub. You could buy them or just make them whatever thickness you need and out of whatever you want (mdf board, ply wood etc).
