A throttle spacer literally doesn't do anything. It just makes your gas pedal more sensitive.

So besides a supercharger or a turbo charger is there any other way to get horsepower?

Longtube headers would net you some gains, do some electric fans will also free up some horsepower. Things like TB spacers, CAIs, underdrive pulleys may net you a horsepower or 2 but its not worth the money at all.

Fact is these 5.4s in our trucks are slow, at 345tq and 260hp they are made to tow fairly well but being fast wasnt intended. Not saying you cant make it fast, but you will spend a small fortune to do so. You can always get into cams and heads but why?

If I wanted a quick 4x4 I would trade mine in on a ecoboost or 5.0, or as previously meintoned do a lightning blower/engine swap.

Do you have any brand preferences on headers or electric fans? Maybe a link? Thanks

What about a performance chip? I heard they only work sometimes but when they do they help a lot. What's your side to that?

Sounds like you were talking to a 15 year old who doesn't know squat about our trucks.

No one buys "chips" for their F150's anymore.
You buy a programmer.

The biggest thing you'll notice is shift firmness. On paper you might gain a few ponies.

Edge, SCT, Superchips and Hypertech if you want to look into them. I'd ordered then in my order of preference.

There are some write ups on this forum somewhere on how to do electric fans, I dont have electric fans but I know Troyer has a kit, but its quite expensive(500+).

As far as headers most on here prefer OBX longtubes, I know pacesetter also makes them too. I bought mine online but dont remember the name of the site, but they are pretty easy to find, ebay definitely has them.
