Default 03 King Ranch

I bought the 03 King ranch went and looked at it again today with the wife, beat the guy up selling it and got it for 4.8k so I ended up pretty much giving him $600 and my truck and drove away with it. Now I got it home and see the factory running board lights on it are out, my problem is I read some places you just turn them counter clockwise to pull them out well I've tried that don't want to put to much pressure on them and break it so.. I stopped for time being.

Does anyone have any insight on how to change out this bulbs and get inside that housing?

Thanks in advance!

twist about 1/4 turn and pull out.
It is a standard 194 bulb socket. Looks something like this:

And just FYI, if you want to change all your 194 bulbs, you need 15 of them (4 for running board, 2 for mirror turn signal, 2 for bed light, 2 for license plate, 2 for door light, 1 for under hood, and 2 more for something else, don't remember off hand).

Thanks i got it last night, had to just lightly rock it back and forth it was super dirty. I had 1 LED left over from the other truck so I put it in and reinstalled that one now both sides have one light lol. I will get the rest of the bulbs here soon. Going to upgrade everything to LED as I do not like the normal bulbs. Is that 194 bulb the LED bulb or the normal bulbs?

194/168/T10 are all interchangeable bulb numbers, the base is the same on the all, I think 168 is a physically bigger incandesant bulb for brighter output for a filament bulb, but for LED 194 is brighter than a regular 168.
There is a LED guide post here somewhere with tons of info and pics in it.

edit: HERE it is

Be aware of how much room you have in the housings, and which bulbs you buy. For instance, the license plate lights will not accept a bulb that is longer than a standard 194.

So new question trying to keep only one thread lol. Has anyone had the alarm go off just from opening the door with the key instead of the key fob, or go off when entering in the code on the door pad? I reset the door pad using the factory code, (Went off then also) and reprogrammed my own code. Sometimes it goes off sometimes it doesn't. Not sure what causes this. Is this common?

Do these things even have an alarm from the factory?

My guess it would be an aftermarket item, I have never had any type of alarm go off when opening my truck with the key, keypad or fob. I think I have even unlocked the door when the window was down and never had an alarm go off.

The factory alarm will sound if the door is unlocked manually and opened after being locked with either the fob or door button(s) and closed. To test, roll a window down, close and lock the doors, then reach in, and open the door using the inside handle. The horn should sound, and the lights flash until you insert the key in the ignition and turn it to "run."

Brandmaner: I'm thinking your truck may have an aftermarket alarm. When it goes off, is it a siren, or horn honk/lights flash?
