Default 01 XLT shakes while running

I just recently fixed an iginition problem so I'm waiting for the check engine codes to come back. I don't remember the numbers but the description was something like 'system too lean'.

Truck will shake while driving no matter what speed I'm going. Also I noticed it seems to struggle when going over bridges. I had looked into the issue a bit before the ignition problem and signs were pointing to a bad Mass AirFlow sensor. Just making sure I'm on the right track with that. Also happens even more so after it rains. Would prefer not to take it to a shop if it's something I can fix on my own. Open to suggestions and advice.

Sounds like you need tires.

No its not the tires. It'll be shaking when I'm sitting idle.

What engine, how many miles, type of transmission?

Why did you do ignition work for a lean problem? That's not the normal solution.

It's a 5.4 V8, automatic. Has almost 400K miles. The problem with the ignition was that the tip of the lock cylinder broke so had to get that part out, which was a hassle.

The name looks familiar now. You never did say if you fixed the problem.

Rather than waiting for codes you might get an OBD scanner and watch live data. It can tell you things before the codes happen.

You could clean the MAF sensor in the meantime. Confirm that there are no leaks in the intake ductwork after or at the MAF sensor. Make sure your air filter is clean. Check your PCV hoses and all other hoses attached to the intake system. Stuff that can cause a lean code.

It would be interesting to know what engine parts are still original at 400.000 miles. When was the last tuneup? How old are the spark plugs, O2 sensors, etc?

Spark plugs are maybe 1.5 years old, which was when I did the last tune up. O2 sensor has never been replaced to my knowledge.

Now a new issue has popped up. Truck has no power whatsoever. No interior lights, no headlights, nothing. Battery tested good with 12 volts. I did a check where i unhooked the battery leads and put the negative on first, and then the positive, to see if a spark would happen. It didn't. Possibly bad connectors? I got it a couple of times where after I reattached the leads and opened the door I would get the lights on, but as soon as I turned the key everything died and went back to how it was.

Wouldn't do that, - it's how they blow up in your face...dangerous. Pos first, then Neg.
