I have a new 2018 F150 SuperCab and when I raise the seat it DOES NOT cause the seat back to come forward at all! I only have about a half inch clearance and cab barely get an open end wrench to even go down behind the seat. But I've tried and tried and can't even find anything. Plus, are you saying that this latch release is totally different from the one on the passenger side? Because the way it releases is different from what seems to be shown here. Did they possible change something with 2018 model? Thanks!

Yes, the driver's side latch is completely different from the passenger side latch, unfortunately.
Sadly, Ford didn't include a latch in the supercab models, which makes fitting a release not only more challenging, but risky as well. Previously, the potential safety/liability risk of modifying the way a seat is mounted was something that I wasn't interested in, but we've finally secured product liability insurance sufficient enough to explore the possibilities.

My apologies for the slow response here, Dave! I'm still trying to find a supercab around here for a video, but the latch is back there. You're correct, though, in that raising the seat bottom doesn't help you access the latch. The good news, in some cases, is that Ford included a small pull strap on the latch from the factory, although it usually falls off during the factory installation process, and is laying either on the floor or in the seat back. The people that have luck releasing these are using our photos and video as a guide for where to reach, and then looping a coat hanger or similar around the pin on the latch.

2018 SuperCab
I've heard of these but haven't actually seen one in live action. I've checked my 2018 SuperCab and there is absolutely no room to access the latch. If I'm lucky, there are a couple of spots where I barely can force a couple of fingers between the back of the seat and the back wall while pulling on the headrest. Is this a common issue or is there usually a little more room?
