Small Sub/Box/Amp combo.
Oh, and if your asking why???? I really dont want that much bass any more...Just a little thump to accompany the 4 speakers and tweeters i installed...too much treble, gotta level it out ya know. I want loud, but not def, those kickers i had were amazing subs for the price when you use them right, but now, with the new truck, i just want something nice that I can listen to with the gf in the truck, or crank it with the windows down and max volume, and not get distortion...Will the factory sub deliver that?
yes you can put the factory sub in a aftermarket box, ported or unported it wont sound all that great, its kind of a cheap sub in just a nice box
the problem with the stock sub is it has no accomidation for the "lows" its frequency response is limited to the higher range's...if i was you and was wanting what you would want i would get a simple dc sound lab level 2 10" or 12" on maybe 400 rms, 1 it will give you everything your wanting, it will be able to keep up with your aftermarket equipment and will last for ever...its much better sound quality than the kickers you previously had and is a much more efficient woofer
