I was in high school a few years ago..... I cannot say i didnt act like this ...because i ripped the crap out of every tire i have ever owned..... But i did pay for them..And paid for every vehical i have ever had...Parents gave me one truck...and it was a 89 f150.. totalled....My dads old work truck.. and i fixed it up and drove the wheels off it times 10.. I guess we are being a hard on the little guy...

If hes really going to buy you new tires... take your old ones off and try to resell them.. offer to give your dad the money... Hell just offering that money he might do it.. and let you keep the money

I'm 16, my truck cost 1250 and all the repairs are up to me, and I've been running the tires I got it with, two 31" mastercraft courser MTs, one tire that's Hankook's knockoff of their Dynapro MT also 31", and another that I'm not even sure of, if your dad is willing to buy you tires... sure, the huge name brands sound great and look good, but most of what you're paying for is the brand. Cut the old man some slack and get some cooper STT's, or cruise through here and find some cheap tires that'll still perform Mud Tire Reviews

Remember, just because your tires aren't Nitto or Toyo or Yokohama or Swampers doesn't mean they won't perform and still look badass. Tires ain't cheap. No reason to spend more than you'd need. And please, tell me you actually use your off-road tires... if you don't, there's no point in getting them. Just takes away your gas mileage.

The coopers have been what I'm looking at once I completely bald what I've got right now, the courser MT's might be cheaper and they look a bit more aggressive though. I've heard the handling and grip in less than good road conditions is better with the coopers though, because the coursers don't have siping.

What'd you have, 11.50 16's? seems kinda right for a jeep. I'm going for 31x10.50x15's, that price you got is around what I've been pricing even for the different size.
