Well as long as your prepared to live with any consequences of the practice(Heaven forbid any should arise). Then just keep on doing your thing, I won't stop ya.

you can NOT text and drive WHILE keeping your eyes on the road like you're suppose to do when behind the wheel... that's like reading a book and driving... it's a visual distraction, plain and simple

you've been driving for 39 years?

that's sad; I'm only 23 and I and everyone else here have to be the ones to tell you what is dangerous behind the wheel...

I used to text and drive when I was younger. It's stupid. Like iamsuperbleeder said, it's just like reading a book while driving. Sure you don't have to look at your phone when you text, but when you read incoming texts, that's when you're eyes are focused elsewhere. Thankfully it's illegal here in KY now. Hopefully a bunch of my friends get ticketed or have their vehicles impounded before they hurt someone.

Emphasis mine in the quotes.

Just outta curiosity what are your views on drunk driving then? I mean since your such an amazing driver do you just steer with your left hand and hold the beer bottle in your right? Keeping your eyes on the road of course.

The difference is more people have died because of txting(A recent technological development within the last decade, resulting in 16k deaths in 6yrs) then all of the other scenarios you stated combined. The other scenarios you named have been happening since the car was developed.

And please don't anyone think that I'm trying to make Big'un a bad guy. I'm sure he is just a fun-lovin fella like the rest of us. Just trying to provide some insight.
