THE best winter tires i have ever had- Cooper M/S . You can even have them studded if your able to to do that there. They are not that expensive either. Bought mine late last fall 265/70/17 and the bill was just a tad over 600.00 for all four at Belle Tire.

I run my AT tires, I have no need of a dedicated winter tire.

Has anyone here spent a winter driving on the stock tires that come with the FX4? My package came with Pirelli Scorpion ATR. The tread and feel of the tire doesn't strike me as being snow worthy, at least not what I'm used to.

Would love to be wrong on that but if not I'll be looking for snow specific tires and will swap with the seasons as I've done for, well, decades.

I have 2 trucks, my wife's 2008 Fx4 who has scorpion ATR just swaped them out @ 71,000KM I put the new one's off my 2012XTR on her's. They suck in the snow!!! and reviews will tell you same thing, but here in Vancouver its usally rain all winter.

I went to BFG Rugged Terrian T/A's so far the best tire ive ever owned, quiet smooth M+S, aggressive side wall and tread but nice looking and a great towing rate. I went from 275/55/20= 31.9" to 275/65/20=34.1" 250.00 ea at Tire rack.com

here is a few pics

Yes. Winter tires are absolutely worth it, particularly for driving on ice. Its all about turning and stopping.

I have Yokohama Geolandar G072 on my F-150. I had Blizzak DM-V1 on my last truck and have Blizzak on my wife's car. The Blizzaks are the best non studded winter tire out there. The Yokohama are way better than any all season but not quite as good as the Blizzak.

Definitely. I have a set of winter rims and tires I put on right after the first snowfall.

Can't say for your way out west. I got my 2011 last fall and didnt put snows on, nor will I this year. Only even needed to put it in 4WD twice the whole season. That being said, I'm just North of Toronto and we didnt get much snow last year.

I drove my truck using the stock SR-A tires last winter. I was worried about using them, and considered getting winter tires, but I had no issues. We also did not get much snow last winter.
