Default Ecoboost or V8

First time poster and about to be a first time F150 owner.

I’m looking at two used trucks, both are the same price. The first is a fully loaded 2018 Lariat 3.5 ecoboost with 130,000km’s. The second is a 2020 XLT with the FX4 package and has only 75,000 km’s.

My heart wants the Lariat, but my head is telling me to go with the XLT.

So, I’m wondering what the views of owners is please. Should I be concerned about the ecoboost with so many KM’s, or is that not even a lot? Head or heart?

Thanks in advance.

Research 2018-2020 5.0 V8 oil consumption and engine failures then make the right choice.

What are you doing with the truck? If its to tow, ecoboost all day. Heck, If it were me, and its a 502a Lariat, I would do that..

I'll take the 5.0 which if it has, can be fixed with a program update over a 3.5 ecoboost with timing chain rattles and phaser problems!

Now I've never owned one of the 5.0 vs 3.5 but I'd get the 3.5 more tq.

I test drove the 5.0 and you really need to get that engine spinning to make it feel like it's actually moving. Where the 3.5 gets going quick.

Heck my 5.4 3v feels like it gets moving faster than the 1gen 5.0

A dual exhaust and loud mufflers makes it sound like it can get it'self up the next hill.
