Default Day time running lights

Has anyone figured out how to turn the day time running lights off while you are parked.

Every vehicle I have owned pushing the parking brake will turn off the lights. Not with my 2007 F 150.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks.

Good point but when it's cold it's nice to stay toasty warm with the heated seats

My cars do not turn off the DRL if they have been on already until the key goes off. However, if you have the parking brake on and then turn the vehicle on, the DRL will be off. Might want to give that a try and see if that is the case for you.

My 04 has a fuse for it but unfortunately it's the same fuse as for the low beam headlights so if I pull it I'm losing those too, there should be another way

It seems there is no way to get the DRL to turn off other than turn off the key.

I have asked the dealer, other drivers and a mechanic friend.

The only fix is to get a switch wired in, or unhook the system totally.
