Default Brake replacement suggestions?

I have 2011 XTR XLT SUPERCREW...and the front brakes are already needing replacement at 65000km.

Any suggestions on brands of replacement rotors and pads for the front?

I tow a 20' car hauler about once a month, and drive about 100km on highway and 50km a day to goto work in addition to toy hauling...

I was looking at the HAWK PADS...I had good experience with them when I had my EXPEDITION.....but looking for suggestions...

email me at blackwidow2_5@hotmail.com

Thanks

I was looking at EBC, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Have had Hawk pads before (not on this truck)- and they were great.

Why do you need aftermarket pads?

I guess you are buying all the fancy advertising. All the snazzy race cars and hopped up imports.

You drive a F'n truck. 65,00km on a set of pads is good.

Lots of trade offs for getting 'high performance' brakes. More $$ . More noise. Less stopping power until pads are hot. Usually suck in wet and cold.

Usually ceramics need to get real hot to give good performance and that is even OEM ceramics. All of my SRT vehicles had semi metallic OEM and those would stop on a dime with 9 cents change when it was 5 degrees out and the vehicle did not even drive a 50 yet.

Quality performance pads are excellent all the way around but in this application OEM is perfectly fine.

The brakes are the worst thing on my truck. The only thing that I complain about. And Ford has had a chance at them- twice.
I do drive an F'n truck- and I like to be able to stop it without grabbing and vibration.
my 2 cents- no change...

Not sure what kind of aftermarket brake pads you've used but there is no way my factory Ford brakes can come close to the performance of my aftermarket brake pads.

If anyone is interested in my reviews on brake pads, search for my brake upgrade threads in the 04-08 forums. I have reviewed the factory Ford brakes pads and rotors, AP Racing cross-drilled/slotted rotors, EBD RedStuff brake pads and Hawk Ceramic Yellow brake pads. Oh, and I tow an 8,000lb tool trailer on a regular basis with both my trucks. Although it does have electric brakes, I never go cheap on brakes or tires.

Hear, hear! I agree totally. I tow a car trailer and car regularly with the truck. It gas 45,000km on it and I have a shimmy in the brakes so I decided to get Hawk LTS pads and Centric rotors. Had them shipped to Calais Me. from Autoanything (best price) and picked them up with some track tires for my car. Don't have them on yet, but they seem to have good reviews. I use Hawk pads on my track car also.

It may be an F'n truck, but if you tow I think you should have upgraded pads at least.

Brother, I upgrade the tires and brakes on any vehicle I own. That s**t is important! Hawk pads are great, I have 'em on my F-150.

Hope all is well on the East Coast. Love that side of Canada. Been all around and I can't stand the prairies. Gotta be close to the water to enjoy the life.
