Would an intake upgrade make a difference at all? I might get a new truck in a year or two so it'll be good to think about the future and not spend everything on an older model.
Holy thread resurrection, Batman!

No. It's not going to make a significant difference. In order for any kind of opening up of the Intake to be effective you must also open up the Exhaust. Also "effective" is anecdotal as real-world testing (I'm too tired to google for it for you right now) shows that our trucks actually use less than the stock setups allow in air movement, from the factory.

There are some little things you can do that might net you 1-2mpg total (changing the way you drive being the biggest one) but you don't buy a truck like this, with a big honkin' 8 cylinder and a bunch of HP for the MPG savings.

I'm old enough to appreciate the Batman reference, missed the date on the last post. New to this whole thing. But I agree with you. I'm not that guy who wakes up crying over the environment. I need a truck to haul

I am calling BS on those 20➕ mpg claims unless they were using the calculator on their tuner or dash(which is not at all accurate). I also beg to differ as the gov mpg calculations are very accurate as several lawsuits that have been filed will confirm. I know this is an old thread but I hate it when people spread misinformation just to feel better about themselves or their purchases.
