Between my husband and myself, we've had alot of the mods that are mentioned. Noone should ever consider owning or driving a truck with the hopes of getting better mpgs. 'Cuz once you make all those changes, your gonna want to show it off. Everyone knows the ego is conected to the foot muscle.....There goes your mpgs....

i have an 08 5.4 4x4 with cai, tbs, custom single tube exhaust, and a bully dog. i run 91 octane performance tune and clear 20 to 22 mpg on the freeway and around 15-17 in the city. i have basically 33 in mudders and 20 in rims. also i just pulled a yaris from utah to san diego with the bed loaded with stuff (moved because im in the military) and got 17 average with all that weight.

KnN cold air intake is gonna let your truck breathe. You will notice the HP, sound, and if you do the math it can get you a probably 2-3mpg highway. With KnN and flows I gained 5 mpg highway on my pontiac.

This is so true. I bought a second car for mpgs and just drive my truck for fun, it's way more fun driving it when you are not worried about mpgs.

Even if you took and halved the figure I put down for the efans + udp it would still take 25k miles or so to break even.
i just did a estimation on this.... if i did these upgrades it would give me 30 extra miles a tank, at 1 MPG increase. I fill up my truck 2 times a week for work alone. This would be 60 miles extra a week, which is 240 miles a month, so according to my math it would save me 60 dollars a month if i did this mod, for work alone. So if you can find and pay around 500 dollars for the mod it will take you about 8 months for it to pay for itself.

I have mods, I sometimes drive like a granny so my mpg loss is minimal, but when I get on it , it goes and gas is the last thing on my mind.
It's an affordable balance.

Did you get the bbk throttle body?
What brand coil packs?
21 MPG's sounds incredible, I would like to know more about your truck. Like is it 2wd or single cab.
