Worn Steering Wheel Help
I had the same issue with mine so I bought a realtree cover and called it good. Mostly because I didn't think about replacing the steering wheel. But I'm not sure if you need any special tools to remove the airbag or not.
I have never really been a fan of covers. I plan on replacing the steering wheel if I can do it relatively inexpensively. It is a real eye sore and I would rather it look factory if I can manage to do it. I know that you have to be very careful when messing with airbags. If anyone has replaced their steering wheel I would be more than happy to take any advice.
Thank you.
Thank you.
OMG, just got a quote from my local Ford dealer on a oem steering wheel ($522.56). On a recommendation from a co-worker called Tousley Ford out of Minnesota quote from them ($322.32). Unfreaking real!!!! Fixing to call Gwinnett Place Ford where my brother purchased his Shelby GT 500.
^ I would've agreed with you on the covers. I pretty much laughed at people that had them. Well after 6 yrs, mine just looked terrible when everything else inside my truck didn't.
I gave in, and bought the best, tightest neoprene one I could find. I gotta say now, after about 1yr of having it, I could not drive without it.
I like how it looks, how it feels, and without it, the wheel feels pathetically skinny now.

Found an entire steering column assembly for $100 at a used parts place in Atlanta. Suppose to be sending me a picture of the item.
Good deal, that's exactly how i found mine. I asked them if i could buy just the wheel as I didn't need the column and that's what they did. I saved money on shipping too!
