the break off isnt an issue anymore ever since they designed the tools, aggervating yes, but you deal with it. and im sorry i am goin to use what the truck was designed which is motorcraft never had issues with OEM plugs, theyll last 75000 if the truck is running properly. if the truck is modded heavly you might go for aftermarket plugs, but for most of us motorcraft is fine

I have personally done these plug changes at my work myself and haven't had nearly as much problems, and all I've used are the spark plug socket, my own modified easy-out, punch and a hammer. I find the hard part is because of the little space you have to work in. All I've ever done if the plug breaks with the porcelain still inside is take a long skinny punch and lightly punch the rest of the porcelain down so that it seats up against the grounding electrode and usually cracks the electrode. Then I take my modified easy out with extension to fit a 3/8 ratchet and twist the bottom portion of the plug out. They usually come out very easy with the easy-out. On average it has taken me about 1.5 hours to get all 8 plugs out including ones that break. If i can ill take some pics of my own little tool i made to get the broken plugs out and post em on the site somewhere.

Nope, no porcelain in the cylinders. It doesn't break into pieces when you punch it down. Your just pushing it down a bit so that you can fit the easy-out inside the the steel sleeve that has broken off inside the cylinder head. I have yet to see one with the porcelain that has broken into pieces and fallen into the cylinder.

one thing i'm curious on is if the brisk plugs are one piece or 2... i know champion makes a 1 piece but i'm not sure if the brisk are and i've been debating between brisk and champion... what do you guys recommend

The Brisk plugs are a one piece design. Haven't really heard too much about them. I would stick with the motorcraft plugs, Do NOT buy the champions....They are garbage plugs! I was going to purchase a set of the Brisk plugs but they are $19 a piece. So instead through work i bought the motorcraft plugs for like $7 a piece. As for re-designed motorcraft plugs, I havent seen any re-designed one piece plugs from motorcraft at all.

oh ok... i'll steer clear of those plugs then... i know i'd like to go one piece when i change them so hopefully motorcraft has brought the 1 piece plug out... but otherwise i'll probably use brisk... i guess either way as long as they're changed regularly you don't have to worry about breaking them off
