Default Wont start in park ????

searched alot online installed a new engine and transmission on my 08 f150 harley edition. Low oil pressure causing phaser knock and reverse quit working. remanned engine and rebuilt transmission. Now the truck will not start in park, shift to neutral will start no problem. Shift into park brings up code P0705 transmission range sensor circuit malfunction, P1702 transmision range sensor intermittent. Tried a different sensor and same problem. Once started in neutral no codes appear only when shifted to park will they come up. I am stumped any help would be appreciated

thank you

I should've said a short or open in the park switch circuit...like the wiring. It's not uncommon to have issues with the wires down there.

Just noticed that the tranny is rebuilt. How long ago was the rebuild? Is it still under warranty? May have something to do with the internal park mech not triggering the switch...esp since the neutral works. As I recall the same switch is used for both park and neutral to let the engine crank. Is your truck shifter on Yeh column or floor...many floor shifters have a park switch in the shifter itself. Just a thought.

Did you check the alignment of the trans range sensor?
