at the ignition switch under the steering wheel.

when making your connections whether youre going to solder or twist and tape make sure you stagger each connection. dont splice in to all the wires at the same place if you get what im saying.

When you say ignition switch I am assuming we are talking about the key switch.. So I would have to remove the plastic around the column to get to those wires, does that mean I gotta pull the wheel? Ive never removed it had that part of the dash apart.

Just pull the plastic off of the lower part of the column. You can get it off with the steering wheel already in place. You should have the knee bolster off too (plastic and metal panel underneath column), to make access easier. You need to have the lower column shroud off anyway to connect to the rx/tx wires of the immobilizer circuit.

no the wheel stays but like chris.c said, you have to get under the steering wheel to get to the immobilizer anyways for the TX, RX wires for the bypass. these wires will be located at a plug right under the ignition barrel.

Ah I didnt realize that plastic molding around the shifter portion of the column came off without removing the wheel.

Im looking at the wiring diagram and see blk/lb running directly to the third brake light can I tap into it there? I gotta run the brake wire to that any how so it would be more convienient than the kick panel... but in all reality if all that wire does is turn on the courtesy lights when you hit unlock like the stock keyless entrance then I could definitely live without. The courtesy lights come on when I open the door anyway.

Also according to that website chris linked it says if you have a factory keyless entry that you need to install diodes in the door trigger wires. Is that necessary?

no, tap the wire at the kick panel. good chance that blk/lb wire youre talking about is a completely different wire. the wire colors can be duplicated in the car. thats why its good to test the wires to make sure they are right.

ive never hooked the dome light supervision up. all that does is turn the lights on inside the truck right? atleast thats what ive always thought it was, thats why i never hooked it up.

what wiring diagram are you looking at and where did you get it from?

the brake wire should go to the light green wire at the brake pedal.

if you are installing a security system im pretty sure you need those wires diode isolated. i havent done any alarm systems, plan on doing one in the next month or so to my truck. if youre doing just the remote start the diode isolation is not needed.

use bulldogsecurity.com for all the wires you need to hook too.
