Default Wiper Cowl

So I've come to the point where i need to paint my cowl but realized today when i was looking it over that the passenger rubber side piece was missing. Anyone know if you can get those separetly or do you have to buy the whole cowl.

Your gonna have to buy the cowl because they dont sell the rubber piece by itself, the good thing its two pieces, the bad thing is that if u buy one side the other side wont match cause most likley it will be sun faded.. check this place out, thats where i'm ordering mine from. http://newfordparts.com

Yep, the rubber piece only comes with the half plastic piece.

If the other link does not yield a good price, try these folks; fast shipping, and good prices:

If your end rubber piece was in good shape, I'd suggest painting the faded plastic with Krylon Black "fusion" spray paint. This stuff works great on plastic; just be sure to use a good prep cleaner first.

Default Back to Black

My cowl was really faded as well and thought about painting. I used B2B and worked it in with a tooth brush and wiped down with a rag. After a few days I power washed it and it looks 1000% better. Something to consider, it will save some money and time. Its worth a shot

Is the back to black absorbed into the plastic? I'd like to do my cowl and bedrails but I am worried about it streaking every morning from dew, like armor all (or whatever "protectant").

I have used the Back to Black product on my fender flares, wiper cowl, real bumper area, nerf bar steps and bed rails. No streaking at all, not even from morning dew. But I carefully put thin coats on (4 to 5) until it looked new again. It just takes a lot of time and patience.

Anyone try the custom replacement cowls by Street Scene or Lund? I haven't, just curious what they look like and are the fading rubber pieces on the ends still needed? Thanks.
