I went 15% on mine the best way to tell of it's factor or after market is to crack the window and look at the top of the glass is you see a clear stripe that runs alone the top (what you call clear haha) it will be real distinctive, as far as durability go with the new ceramic stuff it's nice I did and I love it it's virtually scratch proof and it keeps 85% of the heat out I got mine on maga discount for 130$ for the two front windows but for retail your looking at around 200$ for ceramic 15% also becareful of where you go there are alot of shady places that do window tints, like audio shops cough cough** they will sell you the lowest quaility stuff make sure you find a tinting company you want something that isn't going to change colors over time or peel, the previous owner of my truck put on some cheap crap from an audio shop, and it was amazing how the color changed it looked like it was originally 25% by looking at the part of the glass the sets in the weather seal but everywhere else it was like 98% haha it's worth it to spend the money for something that's going to last and that your not going to have to repair or replace.

I USED to have 15% on the front, until I sarted the CHP process. Here in CA, ANY tint in the front is illegal (unless its factory). I liked having tint in the front, but you gotta do what you gotta do lol. Good luck and post pics when and if you get it done

I paid 150 bucks to get limo tint all around my car. It's pretty dark but I really like it. I think limo is about 5%.

I had my frt windows tinted trying to match the rear doors and slider.
20% is what I was told. I went with a tint that looked close. 15% or 20%
I just wanted it to look like the back doors stock glass. Of course the frt windshield glare throws off the look at a certain angle.

So far I haven't been told to take it off. Some day I am sure a HP officer will write me up for the tint.
I try to get both frt windows down when around the police. But some day I will loose again.

I have had to remove the frt tint on other cars of mine. ( the wife doesn't roll the window down around the police) ... ????

My tint is 15% and if you go to a pro normally its life time warranty for 2 sides and 10" sunstrip was like 70.00
Also factory is tinted if you have A/C, just barely

+1. I just recently had my front two windows tinted 15%. I also asked a police officer if he could use a tint meter on my rear two doors before I got the others tinted and his meter read 18%.

had my windows tinted at 20%, approx the shade of factory, had a cop pull me over in the early morning hours when the sun was comming up but not quite there and he took a meter reading of my tint at 615am when it was obviously darker in car. not sure if that makes a difference w/those meters or not but it seemed odd and i had to go to court to fight that my tint was "legal" after all was said & done i got to keep tint on and i had to get documentation from ford certifying it.

lol, how do you figure? not only do they do a home visit, but they check your vehicle out on the DL when you go to your QAP interview. My buddy didn't even make it inside to the interview because he had tint on his front windows (they told him "funny you want to be a CHP officer, when you can't even abide by the laws now... you can go home and figure it out first..." lol
