Default window switch trouble

I am having trouble with the drivers window switch in my 2006 F-150 Super-crew. The window won't roll up unless I repeatedly press the switch, sometimes as many as 15+ times. Then other times, it works fine. There doesn't appear to be any climate related conditions (heat/cold, wet/dry) that affect the window.

Does anyone know if this is a common problem or if there is a TSB/recall for this? If not, is this an "easy" fix?

Thanks,

Ray

Does the dome light dim when you hit the switch when it's not working?

I have the same truck 06 screw, If your search window switch you will find all kinds of post on this. There is a write-up showing how to clean the contacts. This has worked for some but did NOT work for me. Apparently there is a new part number for this switch and has corrected the problem. Just do a search for this. My dealer said it's like $65 or something but of coarse i will wait till it's pouring down rain one day and my window refuses to roll up, then i will buy it. In the meantime, i find if I do a quick double tap or triple press of the button, i can get it to roll up.

I have the same trouble to, happens on the passenger and rear window switches to they go down but not up. Luckily all those still work and my Driver switch panel and go up right away. When people ask wth is wrong with my truck I tell them..... "uhhhhh It's a child Lock? Yeah so you dont roll you hand up in the window =3"

They also take all of about 10 minutes to put a new one in if needed.

That I don't know. I am usually driving or at least don't have the interior light(s) on. Will check. If it does 'dim' what does that indicate?
