Yup, I had the same problem as the rest. It was a bad switch. Was $68 at the dealer. Asked the guy for a discount & purchased it for $58 & change! Never hurts to ask!!! Changed it in the parking lot of the dealership, really easy. Thanks for the good info here!

Going to break down and get a new drivers door window switch. It started about 1 month ago with just having problems rolling up the passenger front window. Not a big deal, since I can reach over and roll it up with the passenger window switch. Now I'm having issues rolling up the drivers front window. Which isn't good since it is the only switch for that window.

Called four dealers in the area and their prices ranged from $66.43 (+tax) to $75.73 (+tax). Not worth calling any of the other dealers in the area, since all would be a waste of gas.

I'm searching for it now, but anyone remember the thread that was posted I believe by CrashTECH or GaterB8 that shows how to swap out the switch, which included pics.

If not, when I locate it, I'll provide the link.

Thanks!

EDIT: Found it

UPDATE: Okay got the dealer last night at 5:40pm, but they closed the parts counter at 5:30pm. Bastards! I went this morning on my way to work, picked up the part and installed. It took me a whopping 5 minutes to swap out in the dealer parking lot, which included rolling up/down each window 2-3 times to ensure all worked properly.

Now as stated previously in the post, the newest part number is 5L1Z-14529-AA. The part number I took out was 5L1T-14540-ABW. So if you swap with a Ford OEM part, make sure you get the new part number.

My 2006 is having the same problem. I cleaned the contacts but its doing it again. My truck is not under warranty but I think FORD should replace it anyways. It should be a recall if some of the switches are melting inside.
