Default Window issues

Howdy. I've got a problem with my drivers side front window. They are automatic and when I went to pu it up a couple days ago it wouldn't move. Still went down fine. Mysteriously it started working again yesterday like nothing ever happened. The motor hasn't been sluggish or anything like that so I was thinking it was a switch problem. Anyone have experience with this problem? Since it's working I'll prob just take the new switch I ordered back. Thanks for the help

Same thing just happened with mine. It worked sometimes but not all the time. Took it in to the dealer and they changed the switch now it works like a champ.

My pass side window just stopped working. I can't lower it from from the driver side switch or pass side switch. You think this is the motor or regulator. All three other windows are fine.

Yea same thing happened to me on the drivers side and passenger side. I just took it to Ford and they replaced the switch. Works great now.

I pulled out the rear pass side window switch in placed it in the front pass side and window still does not go down. I put the front switch in the rear and the rear works so I don't think its the switch. Must be the motor.

How much did the dealerships charge for the swap out or was it covered under warranty, because I have the same problems.

I did it myself not the dealer. My truck has 70k miles, no warranty.

Unfortunately, that's the symtoms of a weak motor. Kudos to you for swapping out the switch with that of another door to rule out the switch.

The weight of the glass will allow a weak motor to let the window go down; but the weak motor cannot raise the glass due to the friction of the rubber window seals and weight of the glass.

Has anyone ever replaced their window motor themselves. I took off the door panel and the motor is behind a metal panel. Doesn't seem like a easy job.
