Not sure of the trucks past since I bought it used but the door doesn't look like its been used much other than a catch all so I don't think the door has been used as much as the drivers door has been used. So the only thing I can think of is the door wires have just been in a tight bend and the power going through the wires just over time weakened them maybe? So far it also seems to have fixed my constant door locking issue as well. I didn't realize that till today while driving it around.

Small revision on my earlier statement, window works great still but the repetitive door locking issue every time I take off is still there.

Don't like it automatically locking the doors when you hit 3 mph or?
That auto lock function should be able to be turned off
Read your owners manual
Started with the GEM in a 96 Taurus
You can play with all those functions

I don't mind it locking the doors, how ever every time I take off (red lights, stop signs, some one in front of me stopping etc...) they lock again when you take off. So if you have a lot of stop and go you hear them try and lock the whole time.

Aftermarket alarm?
That sure is not normal
Maybe a wire or three is chaffed in the drivers door and is doing it

No alarm and after this week end looking for the window issue I can safely say there is zero chaffed, bare, broken, pinched wires in the driver side doors.I have not looked at the passenger side doors. I read some where that others were having the same issue but I have more important issues to knock off the list before I dig to far in the locking issue. If you turn the radio up you don't notice it.

It could be just one of the lock unlock switches
Maybe unplug those one at a time
You got the window fixed right?

Yes I have the window fixed. Broke wires in the back door in the door jam was the issue for that.

Wonderful
Unusual for a rear door to have broken wires IMO
Is that door used a lot?

I just bought the truck used so its hard to tell but if I was to gamble I would say no. Wires looked brand new until I pulled on them and they were broke in half with just the insulation holding them together. The outer rubber boot they were in looked good as well so honestly I am puzzled. I pulled the driver door all apart just knowing I would find the issue because that is the door that gets used all the time. After quite a while I gave up and put the door back together. Was getting ready to call it quits but something just told me to check the rear door while I am here and I am glad I did.
