Well before winter really sets in here I've decided I'm going to replace the plastic tensioners with the cast ones and just wanting to verify that these 04 mustang tensioners will fit?
Main reason for replacement is preventative maintenance, but will also allow me the opportunity to inspect the chain guides, phasers and inner engine condition plus will also be a good learning experience for me for when I redo the whole timing assembly, roller followers/lifters come spring. Will only be removing the timing cover to replace the tensioners.

so your truck had a full timing job 80-90k miles ago using motorcraft parts, but now you want to put these in for ‘preventative maint’ before then doing another full timing job in ~ 5 months.

Full timing was done roughly 150,000 kms ago and yes I want to replace the tensioners before they start malfunctioning if they aren't already and I may leave the timing as is, but I for sure want to inspect the roller followers/ lifters and replace if needed.
Seriously though if you're not going to leave an answer to my questions why bother posting anything at all.

I do agree with the above post, and previous.
That's a pretty big undertaking for 'just because'.
I never know about the various parts available, however in this case you're ready to jump into it feet first to 'make it better' without first knowing.
You seem to be a good mechanic and are all over preventative maintenance but not everything needs to be taken apart and rebuilt.
I know people how have found 'problems' with everything they buy (mechanically).
They end up going to work to machine new parts because the new piece of equipment wasn't properly designed.
Sorry but I'm with these other guys. Why the heck would you take it all apart just to inspect it unless you have way too much free time on your hands? If that's the case, sure go for it.
I know I'm curious about the health of my engine, but feel like If you are going to the effort of tearing it down far enough to inspect the roller rockers and tensioners you might as well replace the parts while you're at it al at once rather than some now and some in 6 months or whatever.

Please take this reply in context of the 23 threads you’ve started in last few weeks. I have attempted to answer your questions. Several times actually. More importantly though IMO, so have several members that know a lot more than I do. There seems to be a trend of ignoring or discounting advice, if it isn’t the advice/opinion you (seemingly) wanted to hear. Certainly your prerogative to do so. But it kind of begs a similar question as to why you bother to keep posting seemingly endless amount of threads.

I don't have any problem with constructive criticism, but no reason to reply to simple questions with attitude and or sarcasm. If that's how you roll so be it I guess lol.
Many of the people telling you "why?" Is because we've done the project. And it's more than you expect. And if you're going to do it to do the tensioner, you should just replace the chains,phasers, and the whole lot and not have to do it again for the next 200k. Many of us have had that same thought of I'll do it before it fails, but the fact of the mater is the truck tells you for 10k miles before it has any catastrophic failure. So wait till you get slap on start up, then when you do, go do the whole system. Until then stop worrying about how everyone seems to think these engines are grenades and just drive it. They're solid and give fair warning if you're paying attention and care about the truck. No one here has ill intent, just genuinely trying to help. There have been a few people recently thinking your same thought process, so don't take it personal. It's just like groundhog day a little.
