Default Will The New Badges work?

Hey guys, Im going to Upgrade the badges on my 04 lariat hopefully. I thought that it was held on by only double sided tape. but after reading up on it apparently there bolted on or something? I want to upgrade to the new lariat badges. Has anyone done this or do you know if this will work?

This is my badge now

This is what I want to put on

And these are the PTM mirror caps I just finished tonight haha

The badge you have on there now is stuck on with a 3M type adhesive and there is a piece of plastic that is an alignment pin in a hole in your fender. You can put a rag on your fender and pry the badge off with a screw driver or something with a thin edge but is stiff. The new badges have the 3M stickum stuff an 2 alignment pins which match differently. It will work I have seen trucks with them and it looks great on our older model truck. I'm going to do it myself soon. Hopefully it won't be too hard cause I glued one of my old badges on cause it wasn't on the truck when I bought it. There are YouTube videos that show how to remove badges too. Seeing it makes you feel better about taking tools to your bodywork!

they're stuck on there with 3M adhesive. Take some fishing line and a heat gun to them and they will come off. the 09+ badges line up perfectly with the holes

I appreciate it! Got em off a buddy for a great price. As soon as he said he was selling the wheels I knew I had to have em. Tires have been great as well. Dreading buying new ones tho. Rubber is HIGH

You'll need to snip the alignment pins off of the new badges that go on the fenders, as the holes on the 2004 to 2008 in the fenders do not line up. I have the new emplems on my 2005.

The tailgate emblem pins do align with the current holes, so your good there.

The newer tailgate badge also has ridges that fit into the newer style tailgate contours. I chose to sand down the tailgate badge so the emblem fits flush against the tailgate.
