Whistle from front end

Default Whistle from front end

I have a 2005 f-150 4.6 and everytime it gets to about -10 and below i hear a whistle from the front end any ideas??

Same thing here. I've read it may be some wierd thing with the alternator.

06 5.4 same problem, but it doesn't have to get that cold... it sings when it gets down to around 32-33... goes away when the engine warms up.

It goes away after awhile but once the throttle hits a certain point it'll do it again... So I guess this problem happens with most of these trucks

Its the air filter! That's what a cold air sounds like all the time, my truck does that too when it's around 30 or colder

My truck does it too when it's 10 degrees and below, usually right around 1800rpm.

all my research has indicated it is just a nuisance and doesn't really effect anything.

I found out what's causing the problem it's the alternator so I ordered a new re manufactured one which will fix it finally
