The IWE/Hubs are a different assembly. If yours need to be replaced I would do it at the same time, but it's not required. I also would strongly recommend moog bearings. I threw I cheap hub from autozone on my passenger side and had to replace it 3 or 4 times within 2 years. It had a lifetime warranty so I didn't have to pay for it, but still a hassle. No issues with my moog's in the same amount of time.

I put a timken hub in about a year ago.. never had issues since...

I recommend moog... timken and motorcraft... all can be had around same price on rockauto.. if you had the cash i'd go motorcraft..

Motorcraft : 195.00

Timken : 130.00

Moog : 130.00

also recommend doing the IWES

you can get doorman's for 70 bucks a piece on rockauto

If I remember correctly, Moog bearungs are just reboxed BCA/National bearings which are good quality. Motorcraft is made by Timken which is just as good... You'll only be payong extra for the Motorcraft name here. SKF is also another good brand. There's only a few bearing manufacturers worldwide, but there is different qualities so stay away from a value brand or a lower line.

When you jack up the front end of the truck, start the engine, leave it in 2WD and spin the tire. If the CV axle spins, either your hub is shot, you have a vacuum leak, or your IWE solenoid is bad. If your CV axle doesn't spin, switch to 4WD and repeat the test.

So your CV does spin? In 2wd, with the engine running, it should not.
