Default What needs replaced?

2004 F150 SCREW Lariat 4x4. Experiencing some odd noises. When driving down the road and turning the wheel slightly left will produce some grinding and popping from under the floorboard. I'm suspecting a CV axle as the boot is ripped on that side, but was wondering what you guys think first.

Thanks

Would the wheel bearing only grind when turning? And this is only when turning left, not right.

Thanks for the advice guys

Yes, If you hear a growling noise when turning slightly left at speed it is your wheel bearing. probably your right side because you are loading that side when you turn left.

I think that sounds about right too. Is there anyway to test out the bearing before I install a new one? Also, would this have anything to do with the IWE system? I've been reading a little bit about it and wasn't sure what the symptoms of a bad solenoid?

There's no real way to test the bearing other than listening to the sound unless it's really worn then your wheel will move. Locking hubs are quite common. It will wear out and make a noise like a card on bicycle spokes. When you replace the hub I believe you are replacing the whole assembly including the bearing.

I just replaced one on my truck this morning. It will be obvious if its bad when you get the rotor off. If it has any play at all replace it.
