I have a 6 1/2' x 12' open flatbed trailer and pull a 4 wheeler.
I am thinking about getting a tracker board that weighs in the 1100 lb range.

With this truck and the intended loads should I take the over drive off or can I leave it on?

There are others on here that tow much more than I do so they will know better. From my experience it is better to leave the OD off to save the tranny and not worry about the extra gas you will burn.

Your max payload I think was 1480? So, if you are close to that stick with no OD. Maybe some of the guys that tow regularly will chime in.

I thought payload and tow load are tow diffrent things
I thought payload was what I could put in the truck's bed and tow load is the mad weight I can tow

Ah, yes. The 15 degree weather back here is freezing my brain.

The 1480 is payload, the 6900 is total weight hence the 6900 GVWR. Duh.

<-- slighly retarded

Still, no OD when you are in the upper ranges of your towing/loaded capacity.

so now I have to find out what my truck weighs when it is full of fuel.

I doubt my little trailer will come close to going to the upper limits. it is only a 3000 pound trailer (load limit)
when it is empty it is balanced so well I can pick up the tung with one finger and I can push the trailer around in the yard my my self.

Well, that will be a good curb weight, the next weight up was like approx 5600, a little over but that will give you an idea.
