Default Exhuast qeustion

What are the advantages or disadvantages of a 3"exhuast from the cats back? I have an oportunity to get about 15'of 3"stainless steel exhaust tubing. Right now I have a flowmaster single 3" inlet 2X2" outlet that exit before the passenger rear tire with two chrome tips. I want to use the stainless tubing from the cats back. I have a 2006 F150 Scab with a 4.6 that I am customizing.

Are you talking about running one or two pipes? If you ran two 3" pipes you would lose a ton of the bottom end because that is massive size piping for these trucks. A single 3" would be fine, that's what I have and so do many others.

What's the matter with what you have now?

Not satisfied with the present setup. The welds look like crap and the tips are to close together. They sound like bells when I hit a bummp in the road, very annoying. The bends in the pipe are terrible and look like crap also. It sure sounds good and I thinkof reasons to go to the store just to here it.

Two 3" outlets is way to big. Go with 2.5" at the biggest.

it you go with one 3" pipe you will be good, 2, and you may loose backpressure causing you to loose low end

I am going to stay with the present setup, I will find a muffler shop to clean it up for me. I will sell the 3" tubing and get some stainless 2.5" and have it redone.
