What do you think???
I am wondering how much you think my truck is worth? I checked it on Kelly Blue Book, and the private party value of my truck says to be $17,110.00. My question to you all is, what would you pay for it? Obviously you can't list the goodies I have added, nor do they increase the price that much. Truck is an 05' STX 4x4 with 62,000 miles on it.
I sold my 2006 2WD supercrew with a tad over 35k on the odometer back in May for $22k. Mine had almost $15k in mods, but like you already said they do little to increase the resale value of the truck. I did manage to get more than what KBB said my truck was worth because of them though. The economy is tough right now so unless you can find someone who absolutely loves your truck you'll be lucky to get $17-$18k for it. I got extremely lucky and found someone who fell in love with my truck and because I kept very detailed maintenance records on my truck was able to get just about what I wanted. I had a personalized plate on my truck CWBYFN (Cowboy Fan) and the guy was actually a Cowboys fan and still has the plates on the truck.
I would pay 12-15 for it depending on what it looks like in person and condition of the inside. Does it really BB for 17? I have the same year, and mileage, only difference is mine is reg cab and bluebook said something like 8.5 or 9k seems like a big difference when yours is just an ext cab. Not questioning you just wondering why the big difference.
Right now is a bad time to sell ANYTHING. Everyone wants a steal. For example I just purchased an '05 F150 XLT that was about $12.6k private party good value. It had high miles and was very clean. It also had a couple very very minor issues that I was able to use to my advantage, big time. Long story short I paid $8700.
Unfortunately, I think $13k would probably be the most you could get. Again, the demand for trucks could be higher in your area and you could do a lot better. Just be ready for a lot of "will you take $10k for it?".

Yea region has alot to do with it, for some reason you can't sell the STX's up here, the dealer had 2 left overs on the lot, alright truck for 18grand, but most people want the big motor and a truck that is loaded

Yeah, I am not really looking to sell at this moment, I am gonna wait till spring maybe. Even then I don't know if I want to part with the truck. I have been thinking about getting a mustang for the truck. Still up in the air right now.
