Default what it the difference

what it the difference between a F-150 and a F-250 and F-350
assuming all with a gas engine. I know you can get the 250 and 350 with a diesel engine.

are they the same basic truck with different engine, trany, suspension and some trim or are they totally different trucks from the ground up.

they are totally different from the ground up. the 250 and 350 have a higher payload than the 150. also the 4x4 versions have a solid front axle and the 150's have IFS.

Different transmissions, different rear diffs, different bodies. What makes you ask?

I have been looking at the 250 and 350 beside my f150 and they do not look that much different in size and shape, I was wondering if ford uses the same basic truck and then change things like the suspension axles and engines to make it into a F250 or 350

Crawl down under and take a peek at the undersides of a F150; then do the same for the F250 and F350. You will see the "beefier" difference.

A trip to your local Ford dealership will make this easier. Then ask for a free sales brochure. The salesperson will no doubt drool all over the **** that you might be wanting to buy an F250 or F350!
