Thats right, this morning I road tested it and they stayed on for a bit after using reverse and went out after about 30 seconds of driving.

FIXED-

I pulled the taillights and someone grounded both lights to the box before.... hrmmmm
so i traced the backup light wire all the way to the frame below the drivers seat where there is a black plastic cover.

I pulled off the cover and there are 2 connectors, one of them contained the revesre light wire and the connector was melted and full of green death.

The large black ground wire was totally broken and 3 other wires melted together.

Cleaned everything and fixed the broken wires... Good to go!

Thank for the help guys even a mechanic needs a good forum sometimes

It was actually obviously corroded, but i started tracing at the bumper and I checked all visable plugs.

Then inside the cab and followed it thru the floor and thats where it goes inder that cover. I knew right away what is was.
Glad I only have to charge out a few hrs labour. I dont bill out for my sitting at a computer haveing a beer after work time
