Default Weak feeling brakes while towing

I experience what feels like weak/ soft stopping power while towing. If I release the brake and press again, I can feel much better stopping power, almost as if to pump the pedal once to build pressure. Has anyone else experienced this?? What I tow, when I tow, is no more than 2K lbs. combined trailer with cargo..

Thanks guys, as usual, everyone here has always been great with help, knowledge and information.

The stock brakes suck. I had the same issue with mine. Upgrade them and you won't have that problem anymore.

Are you reffering to just the pads or the calipers?

Both would be best but I only did my pads and rotors. I don't think the rotors helped much but the pads sure did. Better calibers would help even more but I don't feel the spongy pedal anymore. So I'm happy
