Default Water leak from the high mount stop lamp

I have this problem on my 04 F-150 and found that there is a TSB for it. The warranty time is over, and really don't want to spend the money to replace the whole assembly as the TSB states. Is another fix that someone knows? Replace the gasket, or use some silicone? Any thoughts on that?

Thanks

I had a 04 with the same problem. Ford used black silicone on it.(makes it a little hard to change the third brake light if it goes out) But there is a gasket you can buy for it from Ford.

Thanks for the info, I will see about picking up a gasket. Rather not use silicone I guess unless it is the last resort
