Default Warped rotors

My 08 F-150 had warped rotors with 57,000 miles. All 4 had to be turned, and they said that it could be from driving through water with hot rotors. This is a first for me, so I was wondering if I was the only one that had this problem.

I was told once that if your tires are mounted with some impact guns they can warp your rotors. I'm not sure how true that is, but I always make sure mine are torqued properly.

I got all 4 of them turned for about $130, so it could have been a lot worse, but it still hacks me off. This truck is a 2wd with 90% highway miles.

These tire places use impact wrenches to tighten your lug nuts, supposed to be evenly torqued. will warp rotors every time.

If it was from driving through water then almost every vehicle would have warped rotors either from rain or snow.

This is total bovine scatology. Rotors are designed with rain and snow in mind. This is impact wrench all the way.

Warped rotors are rare. You are most likely having pad deposits from hard or long stops. Do a little research on warps rotors. There is a lot of info on this, and the facts around it.
I have a dedicates track car with a stock brake system, and I get those rotors HOT. Never had an issue. Poor material can cause this pulsing issue as well, as they don't hold up well to heat cycling.

I agree with you about it being from impact guns. What I was trying to say is that claiming the rotors warped do to water then all vehicles would have them from rain and snow.
