Default vehicle storage

i am going to afghanistan in less than 2 weeks and truck is going into storage for 8 months;
what are some things that should be done before/while its in storage?

and im having some problems with rough idling, on another part of this forum some people said its most likely the ignition coils, so my question is:

is the replacement of the coils covered under warranty?
and
should i fix it before i leave or wait until after?

If your still under warranty get it fixed. Coils are covered.
Add fuel stabilizer before its stored, disconect battery, tires may flat spot sitting so long.

is it going into a storage unit or are you storing it at home? if possible see if you can have a trusted freind or family member get it out and drive it every other week or so just to keep all the fluids circulating and the seals lubed up. if thats not an option, just do what was suggested earlier, take out battery, add stabilizer and if the tires are a concern you could always set the truck on jack stands to keep the weight off the tires. most importantly, thanks for your service and be safe over there man!

I store my Mustang in a non heated garage for the winter and dont do anything but disconnect the battery.
A few weeks ago I hooked the battery back up and it started on the first crank.
