So I just put in my Airaid intake the other day and after a few days of driving I've noticed a weird popping or ticking sound that seems to be coming from the engine bay. Is this what running lean is? I have an Edge, it was on level 3 before the screen started crapping out on me but when I put in the intake I unplugged the negative battery terminal to reset the engine, would that reset the Edge programming as well? There is still a pretty good performance increase with the intake, it just kinda makes a weird sound at idle and what not. Someone HELPPP.. And I've read a lot about these 5.4's running lean but what does that sound like and feel like? How would I know?

04 or 05? If so, put the stock intake back in until you get a custom tune.

A lean condition will raise EGTs.

Its an 05. Does the weird sound mean its running lean?

Could be - I've never 'heard' one running lean. Usually the engine will throw lean codes first.

Why take a chance? Put the stock intake back on and see if the noise goes away and then get a custom tune.
