Default Valve issues??

My brother asked me to post a question for him. He has a 2007 F150 Crew Cab 5.4 L V8 4x4 Lariat. No engine light/codes, drivability issues, or anything out of the ordinary except a sound. It happens mostly when the truck is cold and he gives it light acceleration. Once the truck gets warm this sound no longer persists. It is kind of a deep groan and sounds like it’s coming from behind the radio through the fire wall. I’ll also note apparently it only happens once he has put the truck in drive, not reverse, park, or neutral. We’re wondering if he just has valve issues? He recently (8k miles ago) did a whole timing and cam phaser job on this truck. No timing noises are present anymore just this groaning noise. Anyways, any ideas on what we could look at? I know it may not be much to go off of, just thought I’d give the forum a shot.
